MEET THE WINNER
Metro Community Services is happy to announce that Caldwell resident Lisa Thompson is this year’s Project Tiny House winner. “I was stunned,” Lisa said when describing what it was like to receive the call that she had just won the tiny house. “When I looked online and saw the students working on this, I just had to buy a ticket.”
Lisa and her husband Don, along with their dog Rico, have been following the tiny house movement for a while now, and it was a blessing for their family to win one rather than taking on the process to build it from scratch on their own. “It’s like a treehouse!,” Lisa exclaimed when touring her beautiful tiny house for the first time. “It’s bigger, roomier, and provides plenty of living space.”
The Thompsons plan to use their tiny house at Priest Lake as an extension of their current cabin, or as Lisa pointed out, “our new lake hut.” The additional living area will also provide a much more enjoyable getaway experience for their four kids, bringing their family together in new and certainly more comfortable ways.
“Metro Community Services should come and visit us in Priest Lake to see what tiny house living is really like,” Don said. “They are welcome any time.”
Congratulations, Lisa and Don!
MISSION
To provide educational opportunities for students at the Canyon-Owyhee School Service Agency (COSSA) in Wilder, Idaho, by building a tiny house from start to finish, and giving the students an opportunity to give back to senior citizens in their communities.
